Editorial Valentine’s Portraits

Last week I got together with my galentine, Vanessa Mayberry to create some editorial Valentine’s Day portraits. There is a time and place for kitschy Valentine’s photos, in fact Pinterest is overflowing with them. I wanted to take a very different approach for this shoot and create some minimalistic valentine’s images. We kept the shoot very simple with a bouquet, cream backdrop and neutral clothing. • Location: The one and only prospect studio in Vancouver, BC (aka Vanessa’s home that she rents out as a studio)
• Model: Fellow photographer and beautiful friend Vanessa Mayberry
• Lens: I swapped lenses throughout the shoot and used a combination of my Sony 16-35 2.8 (using the 35mm focal length) + Sony zeis 50mm 1.8
