I am a sucker for a good adventure! Often I connect with clients who love the outdoors just as much as I do, if not more. Elopement photography has always been one of my favourite types. Elopement have grown in popularity as couples try to plan weddings during a pandemic. Let’s talk a little bit about why you should consider an elopement for your 2022 or 2023 wedding.
Did your wedding just get cancelled for the third time? I really hope not, but unfortunately this is the reality for many pandemic weddings. Elopement’s generally involve a lot less planning, fewer vendors and decorations. Instead, you can focus on the key details that really matter to you.
When you elope you don’t have to worry about seating 200, 100 or 50 of your closest friends. Instead, you can value the experience and get some AMAZING photographs. You can fly in a helicopter or hike up a mountain, just please hire me to be your photograph it!
A lot of people spend their entire life savings on their wedding day. When you elope you have more money to invest in your future together, OR spend your savings on an epic honeymoon adventure.
Let’s face it, not everyone is an extrovert. For some people, it’s their worst nightmare to walk down an aisle and read their vows in front of an audience. Elopements can take away a lot of the stress leading up to a wedding day. The day is more intimate, so that you can focus on celebrating your connection with your partner.
Some will be able to relate to this point more than others. Not everyone has a loving and supportive family. Remember your wedding day is all about you. Weddings often include a lot of family roles, ex. father-daughter dances, parent and sibling speeches, dad walking you down the aisle. You can absolutely have a big wedding and scrap all of those traditions. However, sometimes scaling back your wedding plans can actually take some of the pressure away.
